Is jQuery Killing Flash?!

jQuery is a fast JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document, event handling, animating, and AJAX interactions for rapid web development. Although you may have enough Javascript skills to build your own Javascript code, as a designer using jQuery instead can simplify the process (think hundreds of lines vs. a few lines of jQuery - that how we think, less lines of types and more graphic visuals). Furthermore, there are thousands of plugins for jQuery published, harvested in large community support for this project. jQuery deserves being the heaviest competitor with Flash. What do you think? Interesting post below.

Free Open Source Apps

There is a couple of free application available to do real creative stuff if you are unable to get your hands on the regular industry standard Graphic programmes like the Adobe suite of products.

I have been trying my hand recently on a few. Gymp and Inkscape can do some pretty cool stuff. Does not hurt to have as backups and experimentation. I love to experiment!

Others available that I have not had the chance to experiment with are:
Yeh man! Go check out the ones that meets your interest. I think you will be glad when you do. Cheers!

I am so Sad

Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011), a visionary, Pioneer, innovator and a man that must be call a genius. I am so sad about his passing and my life as much as many other designers, have been touch in so many ways by his work.

I will miss him dearly and the work that he has been championing over the last many years of his existence. My heart goes out to his family, friends. and everyone at Apple, all designers who have benefited and has been touched by his brilliant work.

I am sad..... Steve, you have made your mark on mankind and lived a good life. RIP!

Hope Zoo Jamaica

The Hope Zoo is certainly not what I remembered it since I was a child. Much have happened since, in all scope of life I guess. However, one cannot recognize the fact that private security tycoon Mr. Kenneth Benjamin has rise to the challenge to spearhead a redevelopment project for the Hope Zoo.

This redevelopment will cost "hefty millions". It is a start in the right direction especially for our children. I certainly would like to see it again redevelop to its beauty and grandeur as other zoos across the world. We will see.

Apple

I have been using Apple computers from the time of the Apple Classic computer. Apple was thought only as a computer company. Time has really changed. Apple is no longer a one product company.

Today, we have seen Apple developed steadily more products that have driven them high in the IT business arena. Products like the iPhone, ipod, ipad and Apple TV. All the product are computers and they all share the Apple Mac technology: Mac OS X. Over a couple of years, Apple has built Mac OS X into a terrific operating system that runs all of its product with the ease of use that I and those of us who use a mac over the years have come to enjoy. They have adopted the operating system for general purpose computer into all the other new product that they have introduced.

Yes Apple... keep on trucking and continue to make your computing ideas to be the most visionary and innovative computer developer. My designer friends and colleagues, the magic I think is in the OS software. Be magicians and enhance that skill using an APPLE.

Monday Morning!

Yep... I am at work again! I am a little happy this Monday morning. Not like last Monday with the burden and rush of the creation of the many Hope Zoo signs for an occasion held last Friday at the Zoo. It's tough sometimes, but with hard work comes great rewards.

I am happy how the project and the signs turned out and much thanks to Janice Harvey of Best Sign who helped to make this came through in time and with excellent print outs. Had to showcase one out of the many that was done.

Life is about application and how you go about them, About to back up last week project on the computer. Thank you Apple for Time Machine. Backup for me has never been this good.

So far my day seems good... but you never know how it will end. Cheers!
